UP Day 2026: A Grand Celebration of 'Developed India-Developed Uttar Pradesh'

LUCKNOW – Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a high-level review on Wednesday morning, January 21, 2026, to finalize preparations for Uttar Pradesh Day (UP Diwas) 2026. The three-day event, scheduled from January 24 to 26, is designed to move beyond a formal ceremony and become a "public festival" reflecting the soul and achievements of the state.
The 2026 edition holds special significance as it coincides with the 150th anniversary of the creation of 'Vande Mataram', which will be a central theme in the cultural presentations.
National Significance & Main Ceremony
For the first time, the main state-level ceremony will be held at the newly inaugurated Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Lucknow. This site, which honors the life and ideals of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, will host the opening ceremony on January 24.
- Chief Guest: Union Home and Cooperative Minister Shri Amit Shah will grace the event, lending it a distinct national stature.
- Statewide Participation: The ceremony will be broadcast live across all 75 districts, ensuring that the entire state celebrates in unison.
- Honoring Excellence: Distinguished citizens from every district who have made outstanding contributions to various fields will be honored during the main event.
