Delhi Launches Mobile Cancer Screening & Self-Test Kits on World Cancer Day

NEW DELHI – Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh launched the Cancer Awareness, Prevention & Screening (CAPS) programme on February 4, 2026. The initiative aims to reduce Delhi’s cancer burden by bringing diagnostic services directly to citizens' doorsteps.
Program Highlights
- Mobile Diagnostic Vans: Equipped with mammography and HPV DNA testing, these vans will visit remote and high-traffic areas for rapid screening.
- Cervical Cancer Self-Kits: Women can now use at-home vaginal swab kits for HPV testing. Results are delivered via RT-PCR within one week.
- Preventative Focus: The drive includes anti-tobacco education and plans for an upcoming cervical cancer vaccination campaign.
Minister Singh emphasized that early detection is the primary goal, as delayed diagnosis remains the biggest challenge in cancer treatment.
